A heating part of a plug is made of multilayer ceramic material Si3N4 – a silicon nitride.
For improving durability there are used composite compounds such as: Si3N4 – MoSi2 or Si3N4 – SiC.
Si3N4 properties:
- a compound is used to high temperatures, even to temperature reaches 1.600 degrees;
- resistance for acid and alkaline working conditions;
- resistance for crushing;
- resistance for thermal shocks;
- resistance for higher voltage conditions.
